Blackwood Manor, deep in the mountains near Elk City, Idaho, is a long step back in timeThis 5,000 square foot country home is decorated Tudor and Jacobean style and located on 56 acres with gorgeous relaxing.jpg (42199 bytes) views of mountains, woodlands and meadows.  Several horses along with docile, classic, long haired Scottish Highland Cattle, the oldest registered breed of cattle, graze in the pasture.  The long and occasionally muddy driveway winds up to the large country residence and outbuildings.  A small flock of Lincolnshire sheep along with peacocks, rabbits, chickens, ducks and geese graze on the lawns.  Guests are welcome to meet the animals and ramble through woods and fields where wildlife is abundant.

Peace and tranquility exist in this olde world style sanctuary where Medieval History is the inspiration for the European castle like atmosphere.  Heavily carved, dark wood antique furniture, tapestry hung walls, canopied beds with full bed curtains and three wood burning fireplaces add to the feeling of stepping back in time.  Local legend adds a resident ghost.

This large country home is well suited for the bed and breakfast and also for small weddings,
receptions and family gatherings. Consider a
Renaissance Style Wedding with period costumes. Excellent local catering is available for such events along with really good musical entertainment.
