As of about 11:30 this a.m. the problem with the mail server has been resolved. You now should be able to send and receive as you normally would.
We are experiencing a slow down on our mail server. We have not yet been able to determine what is causing the problem. If you are having problems sending email be patient, it make take a while but it normally goes. Be assured we are working on the problem and hope to have it resolved as soon as possible. If your machine times out before the mail is sent or before you finish receiving email go to "tool" then "accounts" then click on the mail tab. Click on your default email, go to "properties" then the advanced tab. Besure the slider bar for System TimeOuts is set to the far right (5 minutes). Click on apply, OK then close. Close out of Outlook Express and then bring it back up again. That should keep your system from timing out before it finishes the mail process. Thanks for all your patience in this matter. The CamasNET Staff.
CamasNET Subscribers: If you receive an email from CamasNET Support saying that we have detected an email virus and have quarantined it, please just ignore it. If you go and look at it in your postini message center and then try to "deliver" it you are sending yourself a virus. Also if you receive an email from staff, administrator, administration, billing, manager or management@camasnet.com, we have not sent that to you. It is not an email from any one at Camasnet and you probably don't have a virus. When we send an email our name (Ginny, Bertie, or Michelle) will be on it. Thanks, Ginny

To our Customers: AT&T's Router out of Spokane is down so we have no internet feed at this time. As soon as AT&T gets their router working you will be able to get back on line. Right now Kamiah is the only area that is working and only the email inside of Camasnet. Nezperce and Grangeville you can't dial in to because we have to connect to the AT&T T1 feed. Please be patient and just as soon as AT&T is back up we will be also. Thanks The Camasnet Staff

Due to a power outage in Kamiah this evening, Camasnet was down for a couple of hours. If you were in the Grangeville dialing area or the Nezperce dialing area you would not have been able to get connected from approximately 8pm until 10pm. Kamiah, not having any power would not have been able to connect either. :) We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you. The CamasNET Helpdesk, Ginny and Bertie.
To all our customers: Friday Evening Aug 22, and Saturday Evening Aug 23, the helpdesk will be closed due to a Wedding Rehersal and Wedding in the family. Addition to last system status: It also would be a very good idea to go to http://www.microsoft.com and download the security patch MS03-26 and read the Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 825750 that will give you information and help stop this worm from spreading. Thanks Ginny
To All CamasNET customers running WinXP, Win2000 or WinNT. A new piece of malicious code known as 32/Blaster is floating around on the Internet. This worm appears to exploit known vulnerabilities in the Microsoft Remote Procedure Call(RPC) Interface. You will know if you have this because you will not be able to stay connected to the internet or your email and your machine will restart itself. The error message that pops up will say "Windows must now restart because the Remote Procedure Call unexpectedley terminated." One way of eliminating this vulnerability is to turn on the Windows Firewall. [If you have a small home network or business network (two or more computers hooked together) you can not turn on the firewall or the file and print sharing will not work)] To enable Internet Connection Firewall Open Network Connections: click "Start", click "Control Panel", click "Network and Internet Connections". Right click your CamasNET connection and slide down and click on Properties" On the Advanced tab, under Internet Connection Firewall, select the following by clicking on the empty check box "Protect my computer and network by limiting or preventing access to this computer". If you continue to have problems or need help with this please call Ginny or Bertie at the Camasnet Helpdesk 1-877-277-3317. Thanks
To all our customers: Please be careful of any emails coming in that says your account is expiring. It is a worm (virus). See below. ATTENTION: Please be careful today with your e-mail attachments. If you receive an e-mail with a subject line that says anything about "your account" which has a .zip file attached, delete the message immediately. See Symantec's description of the virus below: ========================== Subject: your account %s Message: Hello there, I would like to inform you about important information regarding your email address. This email address will be expiring. Please read attachment for details. Best regards, Administrator Attachment: message.zip Note: %s refers to a variable string. Please don't be tricked into opening this and infecting your machine. Thanks Ginny, CamasNET Helpdesk
To all our customers: We will be closed Friday, July 4th for Independence Day. We will be open our regular hours Monday - Thursday and again Saturday evening. Hope everyone has a nice 4th of July.
May 23-May 26, Memorial Day Week-end Hours: Since we put in the new equipment, we have not had anyone with connection problems at our end. If you are experiencing any problem connecting besure you check your log-on and make sure you are using the proper "username" and password. Also try shutting down your computer and rebooting it from a cold boot. This often solves any problems. If you are having problems receiving email because of "server time out" or your machine "can't find server" again try shutting down your system. If you have an email that is too large and you can't download it we may have to delete it from our end. Call the helpdesk and leave a message with your username and tell us you need an email deleted. We will take care of it as soon as we return. If you are having problems receiving certain web pages, Go to "tool", "internet options" and "security or privacy". Make sure your settings are "Internet Zone" and "medium". If they are set higher than this it may keep you from seeing some pictures that are on the web pages. Friday we will close at 6pm (no telephone calls taken, but we will be monitoring the system) Saturday, Sunday, and Monday - No telephone calls taken but we will still be monitoring the system. If you leave your name and number we will return your call Tuesday morning at 9am. We hope each of you have a very happy and healthy holiday week-end. Helpdesk number 1-877-277-3317 or local to Winchester, Craigmont, Reubens, or Nezperce, 924-5866. Thanks Ginny
For all our Grangeville subscribers: Yesterdays outage in Grangeville was due to a problem with Qwest and their T1 lines to us. They accidentally knocked the power at the Central Office out to our circuits. We're sorry for the inconvenience this caused you. Thanks Ginny
The upgrade to digital in Nezperce has been completed and if you dial into Nezperce be sure you have the telephone number of 937-2604. Within the next couple of weeks most of the analog lines will be disconnected and if you are not dialing to 937-2604, you will not be able to connect. You do not have to change any settings in your dialer to be able to connect to the digital lines. The Grangeville digital lines are also in and working, that telephone number is 983-1608. Kamiah has had digital for the last year or more. So all of our dialing areas are now digital. We hope everyone is able to connect now at a faster speed. If you are having any problems please call us at the helpdesk at 1-877-277-3317 or locally 924-5866 between the hours of 9am and 9pm. We want to thank each of you for your patience and continued support while we were doing these upgrades. The CamasNET Board and Staff
To all our Subscribers: We are sorry for all the problems you have been having with your email or possibly not getting on line, and all the busy signals you have received when calling the helpdesk. Our digital upgrade in Grangeville did not go as smoothly as we had anticipated and we have been working out all the bugs since discovery of the problem early friday morning the 28th of February. The digital lines are now functional and you should be using the old number of 983-1608. The problem of not being able to send email to people off of Camasnet has been taken care of and most everyone should be able to receive their email. If you are one of the subscribers whose inbox was damaged during the upgrade and crash please call us at the help desk (1-877-277-3317) during our business hours. Or after hours call and leave your name, password, and telephone number on the answering machine. We are open from 9am to 9pm Monday through Friday, and Saturday evenings from 6pm to 9pm. We want to thank each of you who have been patiently waiting for us to get our act together. Our Grangeville subscribers should see a good increase in their dial in speed and experience less connection problems. Again thanks for your patience in this matter.
To our subscribers; We will be upgrading our equipment Saturday January 4th. You may experience brief outages on and off throughout the day. We appologize for this inconvenience but the rewards of the new system will far outweigh the inconvenience in the long run.Thanks,B.W. Harrison System Administrator

12/01/2002- 1:06pm - We are still working to get everyone re-established back on the system. All we have left is the last names with the letters m-r. If you are still unable to connect, please call the helpdesk at 1-877-277-3317 (toll free) and leave us your name, your email address (the one you are unable to connect with) and your password (specifying Capital or Lower Case letters if any). Please do not leave us a long message as that just ties up the helpdesk line making it impossible for other people to call in. We are truly sorry for this inconvenience and are doing everything possible to get every one of you back on line. Thank you for your patience. The CamasNET staff
To our subscribers; We apologize for the outage but we experienced a catastrophic failure of our equipment. We are working through the night to get everyone back up and running. We expect to be fully restored sometime late this afternoon. Please bare with us as we are doing everything possible to get you back on-line.
If you find that the helpdesk 877-277-3317 number gives you a recording please call them at 924-5866. The carrier for that 877 number is currently having problems in the Kamiah phone Central Office. This is supposed to be fixed within the next couple of days. We appologize for any inconvenience this may cause. SRH
I appologize for this morning's outage, it was totally unplanned. Avista decided that today was a good time to totally rework the way the power feeds the school building in Kamiah where we house our equipment and the word was never passed to us about it. It caught us totally by supprise, but fortunately I was still around on my normal day off and able to get a generator to povide power and get us back online. Avista assures me that they are done taking the power down so there should be no more interruptions today. SRH
As of Monday Dec. 31, 2001 the old 935-1444 number in Kamiah will no longer be functional. Please dial into 935-7552 instead. If you cannot connect to 935-7552 then please call the helpdesk for assistance at 877-277-3317.
